Can I use a tentative return date on my re-entry permit application in Thailand?

Hi everyone. Need some clarifications about re-entry permit. I need to go back to Europe for a couple of weeks but am not sure exactly about the day of my return. While filling out the TM8 form this information is requested. Can I put a tentative date or must it be the exact day I will return to Thailand? Also, will my visa expiry date be postponed depending on how many days I was out or will it remain the same? Thank you in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The re-entry permit allows you to leave Thailand without invalidating your visa extension. When filling out the TM8 form, you can indicate a tentative return date, as the exact date is not crucial. It's important to note that the countdown on your visa extension continues even while you are outside Thailand, meaning that you must return before the expiry date of your extension to avoid losing it.

As Kool said, the date doesn't matter. The re-entry permit doesn't change the dates of your extension at all, it just makes it so by leaving the country your extension isn't instantly invalid. You still must return before the end date of your extension or else it will go poof.

Just put any date before your visa extension expires. It doesn't matter. The time running on your visa extension does not stop because you are out of the country. It keeps running until the expiry date stamped in your passport.
