ORIGINAL POSTER
I have a certificate from the Swedish Embassy in Bangkok about my income in Sweden. It is written in English, should it be translated into Thai and stamped by the MFA in Bangkok as well? This document is important for my application to extend my visa to one year. Non-Immigrant O.family.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirement for translating a certificate of income from the Swedish Embassy in Bangkok depends on the specific immigration office. Generally, these income letters do not need to be translated into Thai, but some immigration offices might require legalization from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) for a first extension. Many individuals have successfully used the income letter without translation, but confirm with your local immigration officer for their specific requirements.

I, and many friends, use this income letter from the Swedish Embassy without translation for various visum applications for many years. It has always worked without further verification. The embassy staples copies of the original income letters together with their letter.

However, be aware that 2026 is the last year the embassy will deliver this letter. The present status is that the service will end in August 2026.

We are in Jomtien at the immigration there. I dont know about Kon Khen.

The standard income letter issued by the embassy normally does not need to be translated, but some immigration offices require MFA legalisation for the first extension. Some also require you to present the original documents on which the income confirmation is based.

That's not normally a requirement for embassy certified income. That being said, each immigration office is different. So only your local immigration officer can tell you whether they'll accept your certificate or not.
