Hi, my husband and I arrived in Hua Hin on a multi entry non a o visa and we have to return to Australia for a short time. As we will be going before our first 90 day report does it mean when we return the 90 days starts from when we arrive back here?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The 90-day reporting period for a Non-Immigrant O-A visa holder in Thailand begins on the date they are stamped into the country upon re-entry. If you leave before the 90-day mark, you do not need to report. Upon return, the countdown restarts from the new entry date.

I entered TH on 4.7.18 with O-A visa and supposed to do my 90 day report on 1.10.18. As I'm leaving TH on 2.10. to Europe I'll do my report around 25.9. So I'm legal and doing my 1st one in person ,I will try to do the follow ups online. That's ok !?
Okay so now we know you DO have a visa that requires 90 day reporting (y)
The 90 day reporting procedure works like this:
You are obligated to do a 90 day report IF you're in the country on the 90th day from the date you entered.
If you leave the country before the 90th day you don't report.
When you come back the 90 day count down clock starts over from the date you stamped into the country and your new 90 day report is due 90 days later. (89 days really because the day you enter is counted as day 1)
If you both have a year-long, multi-entry Non-Immigrant Type O visa you should have been stamped into the country for only 90 days and would NEVER be required to do a 90 day report because that visa doesn't let you stay longer than 90 days per entry. :O
The only year-long, multi-entry Non-Immigrant visa you'd have to do a 90 day report on would be a Non-Immigrant Type O-A <- the kind that requires a police background check and a medical certificate to get. That visa stamps you in for a year at a time.
So look on your visa and see if it's an O or an O-A, and on your entry stamp look as see how long were you stamped into the country for..
