Can I obtain a DTV visa as a new freelancer without a registered company?

Is it possible to get a DTV when I just started freelancing this month and I've got no registered company?

I started freelancing this month for one client and I've invoiced about $2000 so far. I don't have a registered company as it's more beneficial to me tax wise to freelance as a private person. But I am a freelancer and I am making money, will be taking on more clients as fast as I can. I've got the 500K THB in a bank account.

Should I be eligible to get the DTV visa?

And any advice on what documents I can provide besides my portfolio and the work contract?

Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, it is possible to obtain a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand as a new freelancer without a registered company. To qualify, you must demonstrate your status as a remote freelancer through client contracts or letters. Having at least 500,000 THB in a bank account is essential. However, be aware that requirements may vary by consulate in terms of strictness. Additionally, it may be beneficial to prepare a portfolio of work and potentially include a current tax return.

if you do go for it via the workcation remote work route, and they deny it, just switch to soft power with that current app also you can call your embassy or message them on IG for questions before you apply

I think in Taipei and most embassies in SEA they don’t ask for tax returns?

Yes its possible as u dont need to show a minimum monthly income nor be employed/freelancing for minimum period. You just need to be able to demonstrate to the embassy that you are a remote freelancer somehow(supporting client letters/contracts work) and obviously have the required money in a bank account to show to them.

It's important to also state where you intend to apply, some consulates are strict and some lenient.

I just tutor online, no company. Also applied as a freelancer. Got a DTV. I do have a profile on an online tutoring site that I sent to them.

How did you invoice your client if you have no company set up?

Anyway setting up an LLC for example only cost around 120 - 150 $, with an agent and takes about 3 days.

errr as a freelancer so privately maybe?

a lot of this depends on which country their tax basis is.

I do agree that getting approved for the DTV would be easier if he had an LLC.

And, at least in USA, it wouldn't change their taxes at all if set up as a single member LLC either. But we don't know where their home country is so that might not be true in their home country.

That’s a bit off topic but you can freelance (work, invoice, file tax returns) as a private person. No need for a company. As a prior company owner I’ve also paid and contracted plenty of freelancers all over Europe without companies.
