I've got my DTV approved from the embassy in Rome, so I'm done for that part. 

Now I'd like to be prepared and hear -especially from those departed from EU- how it works once you get for the first time at the airline check-in desk at the airport, AND once at immigration check the first time in Thailand with your DTV. 

* What will they ask and want to see at the check-in desks in EU? 

* What will they ask and want to see at the immigration in Thailand the first time you enter with your DTV?

* Anything else we should do and better know in advance to avoid delays and annoyances?

not much to be honest. I think I've submitted it let's say on a tuesday. On Wednesday or Thursday I was asked to integrate a few docs, including something already sent (Bank statement for example). I re-submitted and it got approved yesterday (the next monday after submission. So less than a week I'd say.

They might ask you for a return ticket but you don't need one. I've printed the dtv confirmation on A4 and showed it to immigration. My first entry I also printed the muay thai course i took with all the documents i've used to apply for the dtv but they did not need it. And also don't forget to fill in the dtac before you fly.

nothing, they should accept it. They asked me in Hongkong, i've told them with dtv you don't need and they said okay.
