TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirement of maintaining 500,000 THB in your account for three months when applying through soft power visa varies by nationality and the specific embassy. Different embassies have different policies, with some requiring no seasoning of funds while others may be stricter. It's advisable to have additional funds and a regular income to strengthen your application.

It depends on your nationality and the country of application. Different embassies have different requirements. That being said, approval processes are generally getting more strict across the board.

It is advisable to keep funds in excess of the THB 500,000 if you are able to. Having some kind of regular income will also significant improve your chances as generally the embassies want to ensure that the applicants are able to support themselves financially in Thailand.

Exactly, different embassies have different requirements. Western embassies typically accept the funds without any seasoning, others, YMMV.

certainly one of the main criteria is that you are a financially stable (thailand wants people spending money) and if you just barely make it with your 500k its not going to make a strong application. The embassy may very well asked to see your last three/six months statement just to see what kind of money is running through your account.

If you don't want to risk rejection, wait until you have the money in the bank account, for 3 months.
