TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the challenges faced by an individual seeking a Non-O visa for Thailand due to a frozen UK pension. Community members share various solutions, including proofs of funds such as maintaining 800,000 baht in a Thai bank account or showing recent bank statements. There is debate about whether pension income is necessary, with some arguing that financial proof suffices. Others discuss the potential costs associated with using a visa agency and alternatives like moving to another country that allows pension increases. Some contributors emphasize the importance of understanding the financial requirements for visa applications to successfully secure residency.

Think Dobby is confused.Just have to show your bank account balance to get the non o visa .There is no income requirement

Ian.... you are totally wrong. For non-O you need either an 800,000 baht balance or 65,000 monthly direct deposit. If you have neither, you will definitely need to use the services of a Visa Agency, FACT (Unless the UK has different rules re financal requirements than USA.)

If you are in the UK. First put 20k£ in your current account for a week at the end of your next monthly statement and upload to apply for a non O single entry 90 day based on retirement. It was granted to me with a single such bank statement in September. When granted come to Thailand, open a bank account (I recommend Kasikorn bank). Maybe an agent can help you with this. Then transfer your 20K to your Thai bank account online using Wise, leave it there for 2 months then apply for a 1 year extension based on retirement before your 99 days is up at your chosen Imm.Office.

Open a bank account and put 800.000 baht on. Maybe say it's for the purpose of buying property if they refuse as you don't have a long term visa yet...

Do you have bank statements, probably 3 months worth, showing a bank account balance of at least £18,000.– quid??

"...

Financial evidence ... having the current balance of 800,000 THB (£18,000), e.g. bank statements, proof of earnings

You don't need a pension income or agent to get a nonO ......get 800k baht(equivalent) in your home country bank acct apply for the 90days nonO in a thai embassy in your home country.....after you get your 90days nonO fly to thailand and look for a place to stay long term get a residency cert and open a thai bank acct transfer your 800k from your home acct to thai bank acct season for 2mths and get your 1yr extension of the nonO .....this can be done without a agent......

agree the form isn't straightforward. If you are looking for a Non-O based on retirement you need to select Non-immigrant then "Those who wish to stay in Thailand for no longer than 90 days"

You don't need a pension to get a non-O visa. You can show proof of money in the bank.

Dobby You are confusing 2 different types of visas. You do not need proof of income for a non- o visa but you do need a lump sum of 800k baht to keep on a Thai bank account.

Peter Eastgate I'm filling out the form online. It requires proof of income.

I have an agent guiding me. She's not asking for money, only once I'm in Thailand for the registering
