TLDR : Answer Summary
The main question revolves around whether the individual needs to report to immigration using TM30 while renting a condo in Bangkok. Comments indicate that if the condo's address is in Bangkok, there is generally no need to file a TM30. However, other comments emphasize the importance of knowing the exact location of residence, as some immigration offices have strict rules regarding TM30 and issuing extensions.

, when you move in check the address of the condo, IF it has a bangkok address you're fine,

BUT

if it has a Samut Prakan address you'll need to go file a TM.30 form with them at that immigration office.

And this post highlights the reason when talking about filing a TM.30 form with the immigration office that people say WHERE in thailand they will be staying :/

I deleted the off topic comments. Sorry. BUT now that we know the O/P is talking about bangkok we also know they don't need to do a TM.30 because bangkok immigration's doesn't care about them (at this time ;) )

Yeah, I gave potentially faulty advice based on CW recently. Turned out the guy belonged to a neighbouring immi district, which, as I recall, wasn't specified in the OP. Not good trying to help and end up possibly misleading.

it is totally dependent on the immigration office. Bangkok does not care about it.

Then you don't need to file ANY TM.30 form at all. Bangkok Immigration's doesn't care about them.

It depends on where you stay. Some Immigration office will NOT give you an Extension of Stay if you or your landlord did not make the TM30 report.
