TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is in Thailand and plans to visit Vietnam for 10 days before their visa expires. They inquire whether they need to extend their Thai visa or if they can simply obtain a new online travel visa upon returning. The responses clarify that if they enter Thailand visa-exempt, they will receive a 60-day entry upon re-entry from Vietnam, in addition to information about extending their visa and possible costs.

When you leave thailand your visa is cancelled if it is a single entry visa. You will need a new one or visa exempt (which is really effectively a visa exempt of application).

Arrive visa exempt for 60 days then you can simply extend it for another 30 days at immigration it will cost 1900bht no need to go to Vietnam unless you want too.

If you do go to Vietnam you will get another 60 day visa exemption when you arrive back in Thailand providing you haven't done border runs before you will be ok ,no need to get an evisa

Don't forget to do your TDAC every time you enter Thailand.

on your second visa-exempt entry you might get asked for the three famous proofs: 20,000 THB or equivalent, in cash. Proof of a few booked nights of sccomodation. Proof of onward travel within the first 60 days. . . . . also, the onward travel proof can be asked by the airline! Anyone who is flying visa-exempt to Thailand CAN get asked for an onward travel proof out of Thailand within the first 60 days, so beware

the TDAC is not a visa. The TDAC has nothing to do with the stay permit you receive when you enter Thailand either on a 60 days tourist visa or enter visa-exempt and get stamped in for 60 days. The TDAC is just a digital informal "arrival" note you enter into the computer for Thai Immigration

TDAC does not give you 60 days it is just an arrival card. Don't confuse it with a visa or visa free entry

if no previous history of arriving with no visa and getting stamped in for 60 days. Then just come no visa and get 60 days free of a visa

Yes so you get visa free entry when you come back from Vietnam fir another 60 days.

Go Thailand get 60 day stamp no visa. If you leave to Vietnam say on 40 day for x amout of days you then come back to Thailand visa free for 60 days.

You only need to do the TDAC each time to enter Thailand.
