Can I obtain a new 60-day tourist visa for Thailand after spending time in Vietnam?

Hi, all. New to the group. Apologies if this has already been covered.

Planning to leave Australia for six months from mid-April to mid-October. A couple of years ago, I got the 60 day tourist visa to enter Thailand and then extended for another 30 days. No problems.

I am planning to go to Vietnam for a couple of weeks, probably around the end of the 90 days.

I would like to go back to Thailand, from Vietnam, on another 60 day tourist visa and then extend with another 30 day extension to get me through to mid-October.

Is there anything to stop me from doing this? Is there a certain amount of time I have to be out of Thailand, after the first 90 days, before I can go back in on another 60 day tourist visa?

Thanks in advance for any advice related to this. ๐Ÿ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user plans to return to Thailand on a new 60-day tourist visa after a trip to Vietnam. They previously used a similar visa without issues and inquire if there's a required duration out of Thailand before reapplying for another tourist visa. Comments clarify that there is no specific time frame needed to be out of Thailand before re-entering on a new visa, and multiple entries typically do not raise concerns with immigration.

As an aside Vietnam is pretty tough to get a tourist visa from. They want 6 months of bank statements showing funds before approval.

Really? I didn't have any problems last year when I went there, but the visa was organised through a travel agent so maybe that's why. Monthly border runs were annoying. I believe they have reinstated the 60 or 90 day tourist visas they had before Covid.

You can get a 3-month single or multiple entry tourist e-visa for Vietnam in advance. You canโ€™t extend it without leaving the country and applying for a new visa once youโ€™re outside of Vietnam. It takes a week or two to get the e-visa from the time that you submit your application. Laws were changed in mid-August and yes, they are enforcing the current laws more now.

Yes, but some have reported they are strict now. Not done myself. Only going off posts/comments I have read.

There is no time frame for having to be out of Thailand before returning.

Just two entries like that generally wouldnโ€™t raise any red flags to immigration.
