Hi, all. New to the group. Apologies if this has already been covered.
Planning to leave Australia for six months from mid-April to mid-October. A couple of years ago, I got the 60 day tourist visa to enter Thailand and then extended for another 30 days. No problems.
I am planning to go to Vietnam for a couple of weeks, probably around the end of the 90 days.
I would like to go back to Thailand, from Vietnam, on another 60 day tourist visa and then extend with another 30 day extension to get me through to mid-October.
Is there anything to stop me from doing this? Is there a certain amount of time I have to be out of Thailand, after the first 90 days, before I can go back in on another 60 day tourist visa?
Thanks in advance for any advice related to this. ๐

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user plans to return to Thailand on a new 60-day tourist visa after a trip to Vietnam. They previously used a similar visa without issues and inquire if there's a required duration out of Thailand before reapplying for another tourist visa. Comments clarify that there is no specific time frame needed to be out of Thailand before re-entering on a new visa, and multiple entries typically do not raise concerns with immigration.
Really? I didn't have any problems last year when I went there, but the visa was organised through a travel agent so maybe that's why. Monthly border runs were annoying. I believe they have reinstated the 60 or 90 day tourist visas they had before Covid.
You can get a 3-month single or multiple entry tourist e-visa for Vietnam in advance. You canโt extend it without leaving the country and applying for a new visa once youโre outside of Vietnam. It takes a week or two to get the e-visa from the time that you submit your application. Laws were changed in mid-August and yes, they are enforcing the current laws more now.
