Good morning everyone!

Hopefully you can advise me or tell me if i am right or wrong on my plan….

I am coming over to thailand in jan 2023 and hopefully staying for around 10 weeks, i will be in thailand for about 2 weeks then my partner and i are planning to go to vietnam for a week then back to thailand for another 2 weeks and then go to cambodia for a week then return to thailand for the remainder of the 10 weeks.

Now am i correct in saying each time i leave the country then i have to complete a 30 day tourist visa when i re enter? So i will do an entry visa from uk when i arrive, plus a visa when i come back from vietnam then another visa when i come back from cambodia then theoretically i should have covered my whole stay by just filling out tourist visas when i re enter thailand….

Hope ive explained my thoughts clearly enough for you guys to understand what i mean and any advice is greatly appreciated…..

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about visa requirements for a 10-week trip to Thailand with planned visits to Vietnam and Cambodia. They seek clarification on whether they will need to obtain a tourist visa each time they re-enter Thailand. Responses clarify that returning from these countries would generally allow for a 30-day visa exemption upon re-entry, as long as the user is aware of the limits on visa-exempt entries by land.

UK citizens get a 30 days visa exemption on entry. No visa required.

Unless you go to a consulate each time and apply for a tourist visa, you will only receive a 30 day visa exempt stamp each time you enter the country.

There is no entry tourist visa, that doesn't exist. If you enter without a visa it's called "visa exempt" and you can enter this way by land 2 times per year.

So if you fly into Thailand from UK you can get 30 days visa exempt, then you leave to Vietnam and when you return, you will once again be stamped in for 30 days visa exempt, then you will go to Cambodia and when you return you'll get 30 days visa exempt again.

Just beware if you go to Vietnam and Cambodia and return via land borders, you will use up both of your land entries using visa exempt for the year. This means if you want to enter Thailand again you must either get an actual Tourist visa if you want to enter by land, or you will have to enter by air using visa exempt entry.

Like your post, but explain how you would enter Thailand coming from Vietnam via a land border ?

we are planning to fly to both vietnam and cambodia does that make a difference?

no, it just means you don't have to worry about the limit for visa exempt entries by land.
