Hi everyone,

I'm visiting Thailand I'm January, flying into Bangkok and flying out of Bangkok 10 weeks later. Looking to go to northern Thailand for my first 3 weeks then to Vietnam and Cambodia. And back to the south of Thailand before I fly home.

Is it possible to enter on a 30 day visa, spend around 3-4 weeks in Cambodia and Vietnam, then re enter on a 30 day visa? Is this considered acceptable?

Would I need to book a flight to vietnam now to demonstrate I'm leaving Thailand? Or would the flight 10 weeks later be okay?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the feasibility of entering Thailand on a 30-day visa, spending weeks in Vietnam and Cambodia, and then re-entering Thailand again under the same conditions. Commenters clarify that there isn't a specific 30-day visa; instead, travelers from eligible countries receive a visa exemption allowing 30 days upon entry. They advise checking with airlines regarding proof of onward travel, as some may require it before boarding, while others point out the option for a TR (Tourist) visa for longer stays in Thailand.

There's no such thing as a 30 day visa. You're probably talking about visa exempt which means to don't have any visa.

If you're from an eligible country you'll receive 30 days each time you enter Thailand.

Whether or not your airline will let you fly to Thailand without proof of leaving within 30 days is something you'll have to ask them. Some airlines require this proof before they'll let you board your flight.

Thailand will not care if you don't have proof of leaving.

thankyou yes sorry I meant the visa exemption. That's really helpful thankyou, so I do not need to apply for a visa before entering Thailand?

@Daniella *****
not if you'll only be here for less than 60 days at a time (30 exempt + 30 extension)
