Filling up online form for a one year Ed visa from abroad, I have to inout return ticket details.

Does the mentioned return date have to be within 3months?

Do I have to buy a return ticket for that date really? If yes, It would just go wasted.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When filling out the online application form for a one-year Education visa (ED visa) from abroad, it's important to know that you do not need to have a return ticket dated within three months. While some embassies might have different requirements, typically you are not required to purchase a return ticket at the time of applying. However, if the return flight detail is a required field, you may leave it blank if not needed, as the ED visa is designed for longer stays beyond the usual 90 days.

You don't need to leave within 3 months, the visa is aimed at staying longer. Is the return flight a required field to fill? If not just leave it blank.

So just look up

A flight number and enter it

it is required and it is even asking “flight No” for both tickets. It is just baffling me now what to put and what if my flight numbers differ from my application.

airlines use the same flight number for every route over again. Just look up the route and get the flight number for your chosen airline

then I think just making something up is the way to go. You can't get refused for not sticking with a flight plan for a visa that doesn't require a booking.

There's no such thing as a 1 year ED visa. An ED visa is a 90 day visa.

For non-immigrant visas you should not need proof of a flight out of Thailand, but each embassy can set their own requirements.

Brandon ThurkettleThe school told me since January this year rules have changed and thai airport itself is the one issuing edvisa after showing them the printed paper of online application.

And these aside, I am already seeing infront of my screen that flight numbers and their dates is a mandatory field to be filled.

thai airport issues nothing. Thai immigration put a stamp in your passport after you show them the evisa, just as they did when you had a visa sticker in your passport

The school bullshitted me?

I'm not saying that at all, just that you or they misunderstand the process, most likely just a language issue and nothing to worry about

Wht I mean is that I am staying for one year(extension every 3months). And embassies have no role anymore. Its all online now. It is just the form asking me online about my flight numbers for both Entering and exiting.!

@Kai *****
the visa is for 90 days, the extensions are contingent on you meeting the requirements for the extension

if they ask for flight numbers then give them that, not a ticket

who told you embassies have no role anymore? You specifically select an embassy when you are applying through evisa and that embassy is the one who processes your visa application. You meet the requirements of that embassy or you don't get a visa.

In the past some people have just found a flight and took a screenshot of the flight from the airline and uploaded that and it was accepted. It just depends on what the embassy will and won't accept. If they don't like what you provide they will contact you for additional information after you submit your application.
