Hi, just got an ED visa in USA. Plan on studying Thai for one year with extensions. Do I need a return ticket to show immigration when I enter Thailand? I will have 20,000 Baht (equivalent) and housing lease with me. Plan to enter by land at Nong Khai Friendship Bridge. Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
When entering Thailand on a Non-Immigrant Type ED visa, it is unlikely you will be required to show a return ticket or proof of funds at immigration. It is advisable to have these documents available just in case, but many users report that immigration does not ask for them upon entry. Additionally, be sure to check your entry stamp to ensure you receive the correct duration of stay.

When doing an extension for a SIngle entry/Non-immigrant Type ED Visa, do you then need to show the above docs? (In Koh Samui)

Proof of funds.

Rental Lease.

Return ticket.

Thank You.

You need to show documents of the school where and what you study, your school will help you to prepare all the documents.

I thing it's good that you have the proof of funds (just in case) but as I said I doubt they'll say word one to you when you stamp in.

Make sure you check your stamp when you get stamped in so they give you 90 days (and don't mis-stamp you with 30 or 60 by mistake)

Highly unlikely that you will be asked to show any of the 3-proof-ofz when entering the country on a 90 day single entry Non-Immigrant Type ED visa.
