Do I need proof of return flight for the Thailand tourist visa application if I plan to upgrade to an education visa later?
Quick question
For the tourist visa online application, do you need proof of return flight? I plan on upgrading to education visa when I’m out there so no going to pay for return flight until a later date.
Cheers

Answer summary
When applying for a Thailand Tourist Visa online, you need to include proof of onward travel. This means you must upload documentation of a return flight or another exit plan. However, you can consider asking the school for any necessary documentation to facilitate a smoother transition to an Education Visa after arriving in Thailand.

If you want to apply for a Tourist visa you need to upload onward travel.
You might ask the school to send you the documentation so you can apply directly for the Education Visa.

I’ve seen from information online that you can only get the education visa sorted when you’re actually in the country?Robert *******
I do not recommend travel plans, that is out of the scope of visa advise.
BUT you need onward travel to another county, by bus, train or flight ticket.
good luck.

Yes, you can convert the Tourist Visa into a Non Immigrant ED visa in country. But this information can not be used to ignore requirements for the Tourist Visa.Harry *********

do you recommend I buy a cheap outward flight to let’s say Vietnam or something, so I can complete the tourist visa and then just cancel the flight once I’ve got the Ed visa sorted?Harry *********
