[ED Visa]

Hey I have last 3 months on my ED visa. In schools they told me that I need to leave the country and get back. It's the first time I heard it. Do I Really need to do a "visa run" after one year of ED visa to get the second one ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
After one year on an ED visa, it's commonly required to leave Thailand and apply for a new visa if you want to continue studying. Extensions based on studying usually last up to one year, and you'll need to gather necessary documentation from your school to apply for the extension or a new visa.

Usually, extensions based on studying starting from Non-ED with a private school are up to 1 year in total. Then you need to apply for a new visa for a new course from zero after that. You need to leave Thailand to do so.

If your extensions are less than that, you still need documents from your school to apply for an extension. Talk with your school well.

You can enter Thailand through any entry point, by land or by air, as long as you can enter there.

You don't get language test when you enter on visa-exempt.

thank you :) that's information which I have from school. I just want to confirm. Do I need to reentry via BKK airport? I prefer to go via car ๐Ÿš—. I also heard that they make a test on border, I speak Thai a little bit but definitely not fluent so I'am afraid ๐Ÿ˜ณ
