ORIGINAL POSTER
Philippine Passport. Non-b visa (employed by an Intl School)

I resigned from work. Work permit is until August 7 and my employer will cancel it but asking for me to work until August 28. Is it okay to work even after my work permit has been cancelled? If not, what should I do/ask my employer?

Next q, do I need to cancel my visa extension on the same day they cancel my work permit?

I have a new employer waiting for me to move to BKK. (I'm in Phuket, new one is in bangkok) After I cancel my extension of stay (in the passport), will I be automatically under the amnesty? While my new employer process my new work permit.

Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user seeks advice after resigning from a position in an international school in Phuket, Thailand. They ask whether it is permissible to work beyond the cancellation date of their work permit, how to handle their visa extension, and the implications of moving to a new job in Bangkok. Comments suggest that the work permit and visa extension must be canceled on the day of resignation. They also clarify the distinction between a visa and an Extension of Stay.

As I see 1 angry reaction on the question to show a picture:

The difference in look, it is a long story to tell the difference in rules, regulations and requirements,

It is not the same,

There is a difference between a visa and an Extension of Stay, Please as we can not see your passport, if you like to discuss the difference in terminology, show the pictures of what you call a visa.

I went to the immigration office after cancelling my work permit, the officer looked at my visa and said" you still have a valid visa, go and process a new work permit and comeback for a new extension " those were his words. It took me 10 days to get a new extension. And they did not cancel the old extension they issued a new extension.

While we always try and it's good to differentiate between an extension and a visa. Immigration officers do not use the word extension. They use the word visa

Immigration offices do see your passport and can show and name it what ever you please,

Here we do not see a passport so we do not make up rules as you please,

Then you need to cancel this on the last day of working as you agreed and signed on the STM 2 form when you applied for this Extension of Stay,
