When can I cancel my Non-B extension of stay and work permit in Thailand?

well I can only tell you what happened. If you want to disregard it because four of us (me and three Thais) didn't ask the supervisors we spoke with, who both confirmed the rule, ok. But seeing as that four different people at MOL told us the same thing I have to believe it's correct

I maybe a crazy guy, but i cancelled more than 1 WP since I'm in Thailand and all by myself. If somebody tells me new rule, I ask show me this rule please. I not just turn away and let it be.

when I went to cancel mine MOL said new rule. When my employer went they told him same thing.

The work permit is in name of the employee, so why cann't he cancel his own work permit.

If you are in Bangkok you can not cancel your Work Permit. Your employer has to cancel it.

Problem is that 10th Feb 2019 is on a Sunday, both offices closed.

Bebe Insik I never worked at school, but I learned how to count. 14th March minus 40 days is 3 Feb. So with the advice you can do it 40 days before which makes 3 Feb I would say 10th Feb is okay as it is only 33 days.

You have to visit the Ministry of Labor to cancel, after that the Immigration Office, it could be busy so I would do it in advance to have time to make travel plans on the 14th.

You can leave if you cancelled the WP and the Extension of Stay at the last day you are permitted up to.

So the story you read somewhere about the ministry of labor cancelled his Extension of Stay is nicely said NOT a true or correct story.

I try again. Your work permit allows you to work and you got that from the Ministry of Labor. You cancel the work permit, can be done in advance, at the Ministry of Labor. They are not allowed to do anything with your passport, like adding or changing stamps inside it. After you cancelled your Work Permit you visit the Immigration Office with your passport, those people are allowed to put stamps inside your passport. You cancel the stamp Extension of Stay permitted up to March 14th, with the documents you got from the Ministry of Labor. They will cancel this Extension of Stay and give you a new permitted up to date which match the last day of working.
