TLDR : Answer Summary
The user wants to change their visa extension from an education-based extension (likely for their Master's degree) to a work-related one. Responses clarify that if they are on the Education Plus extension, they might be able to change it to employment without leaving Thailand. However, if they are on a standard education extension, they will need to exit Thailand to obtain a Non-B visa before changing their status. They are advised to consult their university, new employer, and local immigration office for specific procedures.
On the other hand, if you are on an extension for studying (just ED, NOT ED-plus), you need to leave Thailand once to enter on Non-B or as a tourist to proceed. Check your current stamp, and talk with your uni and new employer

IF you are on the Education Plus extension (which is given to people after they complete their degree program to give them a year in country to look for work) you are supposed to be able to change to employment inside the country without leaving to get a Non-B at a thai consulate
You'd have to talk to your university, your new employer and your immigration office where you have the extension issued to see how the process actually works.
This is a graphic of how it works
