Do I need a TM30 and a medical for my retirement visa in Thailand?

TM30 Question.

I'm arriving next week with just a few days on my retirement visa that I'll go to Changwathanna to renew. I'll be in a hotel or Airbnb initially. I assume I'll need a TM30. Can I ask for that at immigration without a lease?

Another query. Some have mentioned about a medical being needed. I have never needed that before (Non O). Is this a new requirement?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When staying at a hotel or Airbnb in Thailand with a retirement visa, you will need a TM30 form, which is usually filed by the accommodation provider, not immigration. It is essential that your hotel completes this form, as failures to file by some Airbnb hosts can cause issues at immigration. Additionally, a medical examination is not a requirement for a Non-O retirement visa as per previous regulations.

Hotel should file the TM30.

AirBnb probably won’t.

You will not be renewing your visa. Y&ou will be appling for an extension of stay.

As far as TM30s go, people staying at Airbnb rentals have the most problems as many of those landlord/owners never file one. As long as there is a current TM30 on file in immigration database you won't be asked to show one in Bangkok. If there isn't a current one on file, then you will not be allowed to do anything at immigration until one is on file.

@Kool ******
Thank you. Do you know if a hotel files a TM30?

@Ed ******
they are supposed to file one, get a screen shot. If this doesn’t happen ask them for a letter stating you are staying there, including your full name, passport number, date of birth, home country (same as passport country)

Hotel address / contact details

it's simple you just ask the hotel for a copy of the tm30 for the immigration and you will have a good idea if they did it or not

they are supposed to file one on new renters within 24 hours. Basically if they made a copy of your passport they filed it. If they didn't then most likely they didn't file one.

Your hotel fills in a TM30 for immigration (at least they are meant to ), ask for a screenshot of your entry, You will need a copy of this for your renewal

You get a TM30 from the person providing your lodging not from immigration.

Unless you can show me where someone mentioned insurance, I don't believe that anyone did because it's not and never has been a requirement for regular retirement extension.
