TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend your Non-O visa in Thailand quickly, ensure you have the necessary documentation, including the bank letter for the required funds. Generally, you can apply for a yearly extension 30 days before your current stamp expires, provided your funds have been in a Thai bank account in your name for at least 2 months. Keep in mind that if you have been outside the country, you'll typically need to file a new TM30 report upon re-entry.

Normally you can apply for the 12 months extension when you have 30 days or less left on your current stamp as long as by then the money has been in a Thai bank account in your name only for the required 2 calendar months
If you've been out of the country you usually have to file a new TM30. The "bank letter" is a standard letter that your bank will know when you say you need it for a retirement visa extension. It might take up to a week to obtain.
