Hello,

My current retirement visa expires 12Nov23. It was officiated in CM but I now live in Phuket. Can I do an extension here or do I have to do a new one?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about extending a retirement visa that expires on 12Nov23, which was issued in Chiang Mai, now living in Phuket. Comments suggest applying for a TM30 with the new address in Phuket to facilitate the extension process and highlight the need for in-person 90-day reporting at the Phuket immigration office until the extension is granted. There is also caution regarding potential difficulties in extending a visa issued by another office.

Are you still on the 90 day non-O visa, or are you on a 1 year extension received from Chiang Mai?

If you're on the visa, you might have trouble getting any other office to let you get an extension other than the office that issued your visa. But you can always go and ask.

You apply for TM30 with the Phuket address and you will be able to apply for a new extension in Phuket. Go to Phuket immigration to check their requirement soon. Anyway, you have to do your 90 days report in Phuket in person until you apply for a new extension.

@Ellie ******
we just came back from Bali so the 90 days doesn’t apply because the visa will expire beforehand. The landlord is coming to immigration with me tomorrow to sort out the TM30 because she forgot to do the screenshot before the 7 day expiry online (I believe the process changed in Sept?) and we have to do it again. Whilst I’m there I’ll ask about the extension 😁
