My wife and I are moving to the Kingdom next month. I want to apply for retirement-o visa and have yet to see any mention of criminal clearance certification rqd for this type visa. Thank you

The general consensus among community responses is that a criminal clearance certificate is not required for the Non-O visa (Retirement visa). Several commenters mentioned that while the Non-O visa does not have this requirement, the Non-OA visa does. It's advisable to apply for the Non-O visa before arriving in Thailand to facilitate opening a bank account, but specific requirements may vary depending on the country of application.

Best to hire agent in the city you are traveling to because they have connections and experience so no long wait ques and they can help with driving license and bank accounts. It’s worth every penny or baht 👍
Retirement O visa not required. This visa you should start the process before arriving that way you can open a Thai bank account. If you go for an OA visa you will required police report and health insurance
Sunshine here 🤗 I have a pensioner LTR. I did not need a criminal background check. I've never seen it in the requirements. I got my LTR visa while in Thailand. If you do it through a Thai consulate then possibly they have their own requirements.
the problem with waiting to apply after you arrive is the bank account and if you arrive on a visa exempt stamp you won't be able to open one to transfer in the funds needed to apply. 3 weeks should be enough time but it depends which consulate you will apply through
yes of course, you must meet the requirements to apply for all types of visas. Your best starting point to find out about the various visa options is your local Thai embassy website
