I said in another thread I am planning to get the 90-day Non-O retirement visa and stay long term via one year extensions. All responders but one agreed it would work
I thought I was starting to understand this, but no... It seems one of the requirements is proof of an itinerary with a flight out of Thailand. How does this fit with my plan above?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus from community members is that applicants for the 90-day Non-O retirement visa do not need to provide proof of an itinerary or a flight out of Thailand. Although the visa application may require a provisional exit date and flight number, it appears that these do not need to correspond to actual travel plans, as the departure flight is not a strict requirement for the Non-O visa. Members recommend entering a return flight within 90 days along with a flight number, but it's clarified that you are not obligated to take that flight.

What about inbound flight to thailand what if you do not have exact date of departure can you do the same just put in a date with flight # of that date
You don't need proof of anything. There's a required question on the visa application for when you will be departing, and possibly asking for flight information. Since you are purchasing a 90-day visa, you just need to put a date within 90 days into that field, and if it asks for a flight number, find a flight number to enter it. There is no "proof of itinerary" required.
I did the evisa a couple weeks ago. It asks the date you plan to leave (I simply selected the date 90 days after entry - I think the calendar doesn't allow choosing past 90). No flight info required. Evisa was approved 9 days after submission.
Yeah, that was poorly stated. I was reacting to this from the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Los Angeles website: "6. Itinerary showing flight from U.S. to Thailand and flight out of Thailand."
Does the e-visa application actually have a place for you to upload that? Many of the requirements have not been updated since the e-visa system was put into place.
I was just reading through the website, not doing anything regarding the application, so I donβt know. I will be using the embassy in Washington DC to apply
David Romero On Non O 90 days visa, my flight was TG 645.
Can not remember (june 22 2025), if I had to say my return flight. If I did, it was TG 644 (which is correct). I will be on that flight Thursday Jan 22 after 5 months in Thai on my extension of stay.
I do not remember if that field was mandatory.
What if I used my 1 year extension without a known return date, possibly, never?
David Romero I got stuck on the same question, the embassy told me a return flight is not required, I left it blank and received my non o thru the NY embassy no problem π
That was Oct 2025.
On this page Brandon is very well informed and gave you an excellent recommendation, return date within 90 days with a flight number that is real, you do not need to take the flight βοΈπ
Sometimes the questions don't make a lot of sense, especially here in Thailand, so you are correct to question things like this, but you can trust the moderators like Brandon. You don't need a flight booking out of Thailand with the Non-O, it's one of the advantages of getting it. When you complete the online form, if I remember correctly there are other questions that make very little sense and mean uploading the same documents like passport biometrics more than once. If you get stuck with anything, the moderators will give sound advice.
