Hi, we have now received the DTV visa. Do we now need 500 Euros in cash at the entrance? And we have to report to the immigration authority every 90 days? And let it be extended after 180 days? Is this so true? Many thanks for the replies

TLDR : Answer Summary
Upon entering Thailand with a DTV visa, you typically will not be required to show 500 Euros in cash, although there are exceptions at some land border crossings. You must report to the immigration authority every 90 days of consecutive stay and after 180 days, while extensions are possible, many find it simpler to leave the country and return.

Plan a trip out of country every 180 days its easier than extending in country. Loads of cheap flights to interesting places

You do need to report to a Thai immigration office when you spend 90 consecutive days inside Thailand. Each entry on a DTV is entitled to 1 extension of 180 days then you must leave but it's probably easier just to leave and re-enter than apply for an extension. An extension requires you show funds and updated documents regarding the purpose of your DTV. The money should they ask for it is 20k baht or equivalent is more like 550 Euros

You will normally not be asked to show proof of funds when entering on a DTV, although there are reports that people doing border bounces at land border crossings have been asked to show funds. You must file a 90-day report after 90 consecutive days in Thailand, and each entry allows a stay of up to 180 days.
