Do Thai immigration officers ask for proof of DTV status upon re-entry?

Hellooo,

For those with a DTV who have taken a short trip overseas and then returned to Thailand - did immigration ask you any questions or request further proof of your DTV?

For example, if someone got a DTV through a Muay Thai course but only signed up for one month, did immigration ask for proof of another course upon re-entry? Or ask for work contract, payslips etc?

Would this information already be in their system at the airport?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The community discussion revolves around the experiences of individuals returning to Thailand with a DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) after short trips abroad, particularly in relation to Muay Thai training. Participants share varied experiences; some report that immigration did not ask for further proof regarding their DTV, while others mention instances where they were questioned about their training or required to provide evidence such as work contracts. The consensus indicates that while it is not common for immigration to request proof upon re-entry, it is possible and can depend on the discretion of the immigration officer.

I experienced being asked by the immigration about my Visa ( remote work ) they actually asked me what i'm doing exactly and showed my contract. So, it can happen anytime that they will ask you the proof of attending Muay Thai ( which is one month is not enough) at least 6months.. When you gonna extend via immigration, you have to submit all the original requirements that you use applying DTV which is continuously doing Muay Thai

Every person is being individual assessed by the Immigration officer, on who’s discretion it is decided if you can enter Thailand or not, there are no guarantee that everybody would be allowed to pass.

Muay Thai requirements is 6 months minimum for 180 days on DTV visa if you applied for 1 month surely the visa would have been refused

No they didn't ask me more about my Muay Thai training, I have entered 3 times with DTV in a 4 months period. I actually go to Muay Thai and take photos as evidence and keep receipts

Immigration doesn't actually ask for proof, they simply elbow smash you upside the head and score you on your response.

You're asking a lot of questions that people can't easily answer due to a poor visa history and changing requirements. Based on what you're saying, it seems like you're aware that a one-month Muay Thai training might be too short to justify a five-year visa based on practicing the sport. Keep in mind that Thai immigration now requires proof of ongoing activity when extending it in Thailand. That gives you a general idea of their expectations. Are they checking this at the border? Some people have reported being asked to show a work contract recently. Plenty of others have also confirmed they were questioned. Is that common? Not really, but it can happen. And if it does, you might face difficulties during a potential interview. Immigration officers have the right to allow or deny entry, regardless of whether you have a visa.

Anonymous participant 213 I've not heard of immigration at airports or land borders asking for proof of work contracts. That would slow down processing a lot. You must be referring to in country extensions.

They might ask you what your purpose of stay is when re-entering (or even entering the first time) but that's about it.
