Hi everyone

I am on extension of stay based on retirement with an oa visa. It's due to renew July 21 this year. For proof of insurance do I still only need the 400,000 as I understand the 3 mill is not in effect until September.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the insurance requirements for renewing their OA visa extension due to retirement. They are currently aware that the requirement is 400,000 THB for insurance until September, at which point the requirement will change to 3 million THB. Some comments raise questions about the new insurance requirement coming into effect in September and advise on visa applications.

Don’t apply for OA from outside. Come on a tourist visa or visa exempt and apply in Thailand.

last I heard, people on extension of stay with an oa visa will have to show 100,000 us dollar health insurance starting in September. This is what I want to find out about.

pretty sure the only embassy is in Canberra. I don’t think you can lodge visa applications in Sydney n bris office. You can email Canberra and they promptly respond. Don’t try and phone you’ll never get thru.

Our application ready to be posted to Canberra. The whole process is easy and the application is on line to be printed.
