Retirement visa renewal - Just realised that my insurance which I have had forever does not include the needed 40,000 OPD - because I just pay as I go for OPD, even though I do have a decent inpatient limit, so I am scrambling around trying to get the add on ready for my renewal on 15th March. My fault entirely - I just assumed because my inpatient limit is well over the requirement I was fine. And of course the add on is not cost effective, but rules are rules....... So just to check please - are there any other changes I need to know. Bank rules I know about. Lease is in Hubby's name but I have marriage cert, TM30, Thai Driving license etc. There is no requirement yet for a police check? Thanks all.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is preparing for a retirement visa renewal and has realized their insurance does not meet the OPD requirement of 40,000 THB. They are seeking advice on any other necessary changes or requirements, including bank rules and documentation. Comments confirm that if the visa is a Non-O, no health insurance is required, while an O-A visa does require it.

@Tel *******
you are OK.

Glad we were able to assist a little bit.

Just pick up the list of requirements for your extension of stay ASAP from local Thai Immigration office...submit them and another year is yours ๐Ÿ˜„

Take care...

And as Tod said...With your Non O ...no health insurance required.

Be sure to look at your original stamps when you obtained your first retirement visa/extension. If it says O ...No health insurance needed.

If it says O-A ...then its required.

Good luck.

Okay, lets FIRST make sure you are on an O-A visa that you got from your country BEFORE you came here..
