TLDR : Answer Summary
The current medical insurance requirements for renewing an OA retirement visa still include 400,000 baht inpatient and 40,000 baht outpatient coverage, at least until September when a new 3 million baht requirement for inpatient insurance will be introduced. However, some insurance companies may not be aware of these upcoming changes.

Ken Chao. There's been a number of reports, and the 3 million has been introduced for OA visas obtained from embassies. For extensions it will be introduced in September this year.
3 million, I use AIA a policy so to Thais for medical insurance. It was accepted by immigration for my OA extension and cheaper than previously quoted for the 400'000/
