I have a question about the health insurance requirement. The extension of stay, based on retirement, is due in mid-August. I originally came on a Non-OA. What is the required amount of insurance that I will need? Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the required health insurance amount for extending their stay based on retirement under a Non-OA visa, which is due in mid-August. According to a comment, it is advisable to use the same health insurance policy initially applied for the visa. However, a new and higher insurance requirement may be introduced around October 1, 2022, though it is still pending official announcements.

The same insurance as you had when you applied for this visa and used it to get 1 year of entry in Thailand.

The new and higher insurance policy is at the moment only introduced at some Thai Embassies abroad and the idea is that from 1 October 2022 it will be introduced at the Immigration Offices but that is not official as we wait for the announcements.

I know about the requirements for extention of stay. I have this already for many years. But with covid the re-entry requirements suddenly changed and last re-entry in october 2021 i had to buy a 100.000 USD insurance valid till my extension date. That was before Thai Pass. Still all who travel to Thailand have to request Thai Pass and therefore need to show a 10.000 USD covid insurance. But for how long if i have a active extension of stay (retirement) Non O.

you're not asking a thai VISA advice question.

the requirement to get an approved thai pass (no matter what visa or stamp you're comin' in on) is 10K USD insurance for 30 days <- even if your extension is for longer than that you can get a thai pass approved with just 30 days of insurance.

What if i come back with a extention of stay based on Non O? Some say i only need a 1 month covid insurance for entry. For the extention i not need any.
