Hello. I’m on a retirement visa returning to Thailand next week to renew my visa. I’ve been away 5 months and looking to return on a one way flight. Is that ok as I’ve heard of people not allowed to board on a ow ticket but that maybe because they getting visa on arrival? Also for insurance would it be ok to enter on the minimum one month policy? Thanks for any advice.

I had the same situation in February. NonO retirement extension issued in Thailand, with re-entry permit. Upon re-entering I needed 30 days insurance, no onward ticket. They stamped me in until the extension expires in Decemer.

@Jack *****
could you say where you got the 30 day insurance from please to satisfy Thailand Pass requirement?

When you get to the insurance part of the Thailand Pass application they offer to sell you some. I just selected that.

Jack Uhde did they ask about the insurance only 1 month ?

hi…so assuming you will extend your visa after December you will not have to exit and re enter Thailand?

I'll renew it in November, 30 days before it expires. I can stay in Thailand without 'visa runs' to the border. Address reporting is required every 90 days.

if I may ask did you get 30 days insurance upon reentering and that wasn’t challenged or asked about at immigration ?

The airline asked to see the certificate. Immigration did not.

Garrett Greenwald, iam getting confused or just old and nervous, may I ask you which are the right steps to do as I plan to travel to USA in June. I just got my one year retirement O status last April and one reentry permit. I am planning to travel this June. Not so sure what requirements are needed prior and return travel. I'm getting my vaccine travel card next week which I'm sure is required anywhere, as you know I don't or not required to have health insurance, would I be required to get one, if so, the $10k but what would be the effective duration?, Do I need Thai pass outbound and inbound?, My r/t airline ticket terminates back here, would I need other documents? What about atk' or health tests? I'm leery about the whole process, I got a no go to person. Appreciate any great advise from the source. Thank you.

If it is a type OA then you will need insurance for as long as you plan on staying, as they will only stamp your entry for asong as your insurance lasts

Wayne Roberts, I'm following your tread. I got my one year non O last April in CW. I'd like to know to if Im required to have an insurance on my return from overseas? When you register online upon return will it ask you about insurance, and what will be the response if it's not required for a non-O retirement issued in Thailand? Thank you for the great info.
