TLDR : Answer Summary
Australian passport holders arriving in Bangkok on the Visa Exemption scheme do not need to go to a separate immigration office. Upon arrival, they simply present their passport and boarding pass at normal passport control where they will receive a 60-day entry stamp. It is advisable to have an onward ticket and proof of accommodation, but typically the immigration officers do not require these documents upon entry.

Yes, that's how you get your passport stamped

This is a joke right? Have you never travelled before?

Most countries Australians travel to you don’t need a visa and are stamped or scanned in at passport control.

There are desks for Visa on Arrival but ignore these as you qualify for Visa-exempt so just go to passport control and hand in your passport and boarding card. You will be stamped in for a free 60 day entry
Brook ********
You don’t need anything, but you should have an onward travel ticket and the equivalent of ฿20,000 THB on your person.

@Brook *******
they check 3 of us in one day for onward ticket......2 weeks ago

@Brook *******
You may also be asked for proof of your accommodation. Also it is not a 60 day visa or a visa of any kind. It is a 60 day Visa Exempt stamp that Immigration put in your passport.
Martyn ***********
You dont get a visa.. Your visa exempt for 60 days. Just go to passport check as normal.
Andy ************
You don't need a visa. Just turn up with passport

and boarding card of the flight you arrived on

@Ian *********
No big deal if you don't have it. I flew in from Manila last week, left the bloody thing on the plane, but the IO didn't even àsk for it
Ian **********
@Andy ***********
I flew back in May and didn't have it so he made me look up my booking. They record the flight and seat number. It's a throwback to Covid.
Andy ************
@Ian *********
Really? The IO I had didn't seem concerned. I thought it was in lieu of the old TM6

Check the stamp

Just proceed through immigration and you will receive a passport stamp indicating 60 days entry
Lynnette *******
It's an exemption stamp given as you enter.
Wayne *********
As Brandon said. Nothing else required
Wayne *********
@Steven ******
go read what Brandon said. I agreed with his comment. Passport and boarding pass
Max ********
@Wayne ********
boarding pass for what, you are already in Thailand, they don’t need a boarding pass.
Wayne *********
@Max *******
Immigration ask for it. I go every 2 Weeks and get asked for the boarding pass. Why I don't know but they do.
Kim *********
@Max *******
that is written on the sign at the passport control at least the last 2 3 years : passport boarding pass and visa if applicable. So yes they need and want to see a boarding pass
Brandon ************
You just go to normal passport control and hand over your passport and boarding pass, and receive your 60 day entry stamp.
Lawrence ********
@Brandon ***********
can you immediately extend or do you need to wait till 60 days are almost up? Thx.
Brandon ************
@Lawrence *******
you cannot immediately extend. Some immigration offices allow you to apply for an extension when you have 45 days or less left, so you'd have to wait at least 15 days to apply. Some immigration offices only let you apply during your last week, so you'd have to wait at least 53 days there. It all depends on the office you'll be using.
