For Aussies, coming next money. Q- If I get an O retirement Visa in Aus before I come. I don't need health insurance, 30 day extensions, do visa runs or anything like that, yes/ no. If so, anyone remember how much they paid for the visa please.

TLDR : Answer Summary
For Australians planning to move to Thailand, obtaining a Non-O retirement visa before arrival grants initial 90 days without needing health insurance or extensions. To stay longer, an extension can be applied after opening a bank account and depositing ฿800,000 for at least 60 days. The extension application costs around ฿1,900.

Thanks guys, 10 years ago, when I bought my Condo on a TV. Showed the bank the contract, job done. Always got my O retirement when there. Looks like 3 month, O non immigrant visa while here and transfer to O retirement when there is the way to go for us now. C u
Hi, yes. Lived at Pattaya for about 8 years, had to come back to Aus for the age pension ( 2 year incarceration) bit, ( done) heading back soon. Left the 800.000 there in the bank.
Correct. Need to deposit 800k in the first month to season it for 2 months prior to 1 year extension. You definitely need the non o to open a bank account now, if you don't have one already.
then that’s new. Been lots of breakdowns on foreigners. Lots countries no longer tolerate immigration violations and are being more strict. I got my first 2 bank accounts with just a TV (not DTV).
seems to be a crackdown. Was also apparent coming back from Laos last week. I was ok but two guys in front of me refused entry as they had done 60 exempt 30 extension, been Laos two days and trying to come back k in to Thailand again as 60 day visa exemptions...
