For Aussies, coming next money. Q- If I get an O retirement Visa in Aus before I come. I don't need health insurance, 30 day extensions, do visa runs or anything like that, yes/ no. If so, anyone remember how much they paid for the visa please.

TLDR : Answer Summary
For Australians planning to move to Thailand, obtaining a Non-O retirement visa before arrival grants initial 90 days without needing health insurance or extensions. To stay longer, an extension can be applied after opening a bank account and depositing ฿800,000 for at least 60 days. The extension application costs around ฿1,900.

Non-O gives u 90 days to get onto a NoN-O in Thailand .

If doing everything yourself , go to immigration get a list of requirements

First job open bank account & transfer at least 800,000B into that bank and leave it for min. 60 days

Hi, yes. Lived at Pattaya for about 8 years, had to come back to Aus for the age pension ( 2 year incarceration) bit, ( done) heading back soon. Left the 800.000 there in the bank.

Correct. Need to deposit 800k in the first month to season it for 2 months prior to 1 year extension. You definitely need the non o to open a bank account now, if you don't have one already.

just the bank account in your name matching your passport. Don’t need a non-o for the bank account.

seems to be a crackdown. Was also apparent coming back from Laos last week. I was ok but two guys in front of me refused entry as they had done 60 exempt 30 extension, been Laos two days and trying to come back k in to Thailand again as 60 day visa exemptions...

A non-o visa allows you a 90 day stay.

No health insurance required.

You would then apply for a 1 yr extension.
