TLDR : Answer Summary
The Non-Immigrant B visa and education visa are different; you cannot hold both concurrently. It is possible to apply for a Covid extension (60 days) if you meet the requirements, but switching from the Non-Immigrant B visa to this extension means you cannot work and must cancel your work permit.

IF you have the Non Immigrant B visa and you switch to the Extension of Stay based on unable to travel, you are not allowed to work and have to cancel your work permit.

Non-Immigrant B visa and so-called education visa are different and you can not have both at once.

You can try to apply for an extension based on being unable to travel due to Covid situation if you meet all requirements.
