I have a question for the group members. For an immigrant-O visa for one year is on condition that we are married

1. the deposit of 400,000 baht into a thai account or

2. 40,000 baht per month required My question is. Has anyone ever received a combination of both if one or the other option was not sufficient?

e.g. b. 30,000 monthly income and 100,000 baht deposited into an account?

Or what other options do we have?

Thank your for your answers.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the financial requirements for obtaining a one-year Immigrant-O visa in Thailand based on marriage. Participants clarify that you cannot combine financial proofs; you must either deposit 400,000 baht into a Thai bank account for two months or show a monthly income of 40,000 baht transferred from abroad for the previous twelve months. There's also mention of using an income affidavit from an embassy or working legally in Thailand with a corresponding salary. One user shared an unconventional method of transferring funds which seems to have successfully satisfied the requirements.

Can the 40k a month come from any country and not necessarily a state pension?

I have a friend who lived in Cambodia for many years and every month he transfers 40K baht from his cambodian bank account into his thai bank account and then he takes it out in cash and transfers it BACK to his Cambodian account, over and over and OVER each month.

He just got his yearly extension with 12 months of 40K baht being transferred into the country :O

no marriage 400,000

you cannot use the combination method for meeting the proof of funds on an extension based on marriage, you either bank 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply for the year extension

OR

IF you wanna use monthly income you:

transfer IN to the country from abroad 40K baht a month each month every month for the previous 12 months before you apply for your extension

OR

if your embassy issues the income affidavit letter you can use that to state you get that much money in your country every month

OR

You legally work here with a work permit and make a salary that's at least 40K a month and show the tax documents, company documents, work contract etc

only a year extension of stay based on being over 50 (retirement) allows the "combination method" (part banked money and part monthly income)
