Can I use a notarized affidavit of income along with bank funds to meet the immigration requirements for a visa extension in Thailand?

I have a follow-up question about my next extension. Let's say I have 200K in a Thai bank, can't I use my proof of income affidavit that I had notarized at the U.S. embassy outreach as proof of income. I was under the impression that you could use a combination of bank account and monthly income to satisfy the immigration requirements?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation addresses the financial requirements for a yearly visa extension in Thailand, specifically for individuals over 50. It confirms that applicants can combine a notarized affidavit of income from a consulate with bank funds to satisfy the total requirement of 800,000 Thai Baht. There are three primary methods to meet these requirements: having 800,000 Baht in a Thai bank account, presenting an income affidavit confirming a monthly income of 65,000 Baht, or using a mix of both, provided the total reaches 800,000 Baht. Additionally, the funds in the bank must have been in the account for the requisite period prior to application.

You can't get that letter in the US :/

You get it from the US consulate HERE in thailand (either Bangkok or Chiang Mai OR at one of their outreach things)

o.k., perhaps I'll get one in the U.S. in October.

Remember don't get it too soon before you apply for an extension because they are only good for 6 months from the date you get it

you get a new one every year. You can't use the previous one.

You have 3 ways to meet the financial requirements for a yearly extension based on being over 50 (retirement)

Bank 800K baht in a thai account in your name the requisite time before you apply

use the affidavit of income from abroad letter from your consulate stating you get 65K baht a month in income

OR

use a combination of banked money and the income affidavit from your consulate that totals 800K for the year. NOTE: the banked money needs to be seasoned the required time.

Combination method of money in the bank and monthly income is only for Extension of Stay based on being over 50 years of age and must be in total more than 800.000 Thb.
