TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry concerns transit options in Bangkok when traveling to Phuket on a ticket from Copenhagen to Phuket with a layover in Bangkok. Current advice indicates you cannot transit through Bangkok to Phuket and must fly directly into Phuket, though rules may change by December.
Thanks... I will wait a couple of days for reply from Thai Airway and if not possible then take 1 night at BKK and fly the next day...... don't understand how they can sell a ticket if isn't possible to transit 🤔
A one night stay in Bangkok will allow you to travel anywhere in Thailand (local restrictions aside). I’ve not seen any posts where the new rules allow a transit via Bangkok is allowed. However they do change very regularly so it may be the case. I just can’t confirm.
from what I can see from this website that the information is “pre-Covid”. That’s the way it used to happen. As a cursory glance I can’t see a date it was written so I don’t know how factual it is. My understanding is that to use the Phuket “stay one night and be free” you need to book a stay at a SHA+ hotel and if negative you can then roam around Thailand. (Local travel restrictions may apply).
