Can you get a Covid extension for an ED visa that is about to expire?
Is it possible to get a Covid extension when your ED visa runs out?
Answer summary
Yes, it is possible to obtain a Covid extension for your ED visa. You will need to cancel your current extension and provide a letter from your school indicating that you will stop studying. After cancellation, you can apply for a Covid extension. It's recommended to confirm with your local immigration office and be prepared with any required documentation, which may include a plane ticket out of Thailand.

You need to cancel your current extension with the documentation provided by your school. And then apply for a COVID extension right after. Confirm with an immigration officer before doing it to make sure it's all good. You might or might not be asked for a plane ticket outside of Thailand to get approved the COVID extension. If you aren't approved, you'd be given a 7 days to leave the country.

You would be able to apply for an extension based on being unable to travel due to Covid once you apply for cancellation of your current extension with the letter from the school saying you would stop studying.

I arrived on a TR visa, extended it once at Mueang Thong Thani, then switched to an ED visa. I have one more extension left in a few weeks, but I like to plan ahead for the time when that extension expires.James ********

if you arrived visa exempt you use Mueang Thong Thani immigration office. All other visas you go to CW in Bangkok. As you are on Ed Visa be sure you get letter of studies ended and cancellation of the Ed Visa.
Have a TM30 address registration filed.
Where did you get your Ed Visa?
Which Thai immigration office issued it?
