Cancelling Non-Imm ED Visa and getting a COVID-19 extension? Not sure how to cancel my current visa (Non-Imm ED). I'm in Bangkok, so I would go to Chaeng Wattana immigration for this, correct?

Do I just message my school that I'm interested in cancelling?

Will I be allowed to stay until the listed date on my ED-visa after cancelling? Or can I just get the cancellation paperwork first and get the COVID-19 extension at the same time?

When do I apply for an extension? I was told by my school that immigration was requiring people to only come within 3 days before their visa expires. Would be be different in this case? I've seen posts about COVID-19 extensions taking up to 15 days to process.

your school is a little out of date. 😮

That 3 days before rule was cancelled a good while ago.

It works like this,

you get documentation from your school saying you stop studying on xxx date (usually the date your current extension expires)

you go to the immigration office where you got the ED extension you're on (which in Bangkok is Chaengwattana Counter N).

You cancel your current extension and immediately apply for a 60 day covid extension for 1900baht.

Since the extension starts the day you apply, do you recommend that I wait until I have a few days left on my visa or am I suppose to go earlier for COVID-19 extensions because of the processing times?
