Does anybody have recent experience extending ED visa for another 90 days? Does it work assuming all language schools are closed on quarantine?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The extension of an ED visa for an additional 90 days during school closures is contingent upon the school's provision of necessary documents, such as a letter indicating the course status. Many language schools are conducting online classes, which may still qualify for extensions if recognized by the Education Ministry. Some students have successfully obtained extensions under these circumstances, but it's crucial to communicate directly with your school for clarity on your specific situation.

And that was it. If your school is telling that they close down they will or should inform you what goes on with the visa. Or as you are in the classroom, you ask directly. No need to assume what will happen.

Good luck.

If your school gives you the paperwork, you can extend. Many people did today (In Chiang Mai, anyway).

My school is doing online classes, following the same curriculum, and they said it will be accepted by Education Ministry for the extensions, at least during the lockdown.

You have to discuss this with the school as they have to provide the documents for the application. It seems that most students get a letter from school that the course stopped and if they had an Extension of Stay, this will be cancelled. With the letter from your Embassy you can apply for an emergency Extension of Stay.

Good Luck...and please report back what happens.

We have no other reports re the Ed Visa extensions.

My school said they will provide the paperwork (but it was around 7-10 days ago). The question mostly - will immigration office do this extension with paperwork or not?
