TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires about obtaining a COVID-related extension for an expired Ed visa in Thailand. A comment clarifies that it is referred to as a 'COVID extension' and mentions that applications must be submitted by July 25th, with approval left to the discretion of immigration officials.

It’s not called a “Covid Ed” visa extension, just a “Covid extension”. Last date to apply is July 25th. Approval at the discretion of the immigration office(r).

My daughter went to Immigration yesterday and they gave her a stamp that said 'Under Special Consideration' and she has to contact them again on July 21. So will she get another extension on July 21? And do you know how long that might be for?

Ah I see. Thanks for that information. Would you also be knowing if it might be possible to get a new passport on this extension? Her passport expires on August 16.
Apply for the new passport straight away. Some countries like the UK are backlogged and can take 12 weeks or so. Doesn’t depend on what visa or extension she currently has.
that’s quite normal. She goes back on the 21st and will get the remainder of the 60 days extension stamped. Only needs passport and receipt from yesterday.
