Hello friends, I am wondering whether anybody is currently getting Covid visa extended who previously had an ED visa? I was told by my language school that now it is not impossible to get it if you previously had a Non Immigrant visa but you need to have a good reason. The Covid situation in my home country (Australia) is actually really bad right now so I do have that but I've also heard people being denied and given the dreaded 7 days to leave the country stamp...

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation explores whether individuals with an ED (Education) visa can receive an extension due to Covid-19 in Thailand. It was noted that extensions are possible even for Non-Immigrant visa holders, provided there is a valid reason, such as poor Covid conditions in their home country. Experiences of obtaining the extension vary, with some users advising on specific locations for applications and referencing changing regulations that could affect approval.

Australia’s rate of covid is not bad at all. Australia is opened for tourists and Australians, if it was really BAD like you say it is they wouldn’t be opened

post on one of the groups related to the southern islands,

I know you won't get it at Koh Phangan, but you might at Samui or Surat Thani. What province is your education visa from and what did your school say when you contacted them about it

Yes, as of March 25th you can get covid extensions even if you were on a Non-Immigrant visa.

Interesting. Allowed again? They rolled back on restricting COVID extensions to tourist visa and visa exemption holders only? Is that confimed?

I understand it's technically allowed now I'm just wondering if anyone (in particular in Koh Samui or Phangan) actually has been given the 2 month extension in my situation, as I've been hearing people get denied..
