DOES CAMBODIA IMMIGRATION HAVE A PROBLEM WITH LESS THAN 2 FULL BLANK PASSPORT PAGES?

Looking at doing a visa run to Cambodia. My husband has only one full blank page in his passport plus two half pages (not including the "endorsement" pages). Can he get into Cambodia with this if we get the e-visas beforehand so we don't get the VOA taking up that full page?

We'd be planning on getting a new passport for him while we're visiting there. (We don't have the time right now to wait 2 weeks in BKK for the replacement passport)

Just as a brief update. I never got any official channels to respond to my queries. We ended up deciding to just wait for the new passport to come in. :)

I've had stamps placed on other pages in my passport where there was room for a stamp. Usually some location to place a stamp even if it touches a few old ones.

She didn't say immigration wanted 2 blank pages?

Ya sorry i did miss that bit.. i didn't know that was a rule! it wasn't applied to me anyway!

You missed this: Ambrosia Smoak We're researching Cambodia for living, so we need to go there specifically. I have the info on the e-visa, but the lack of 2 full blank pages is my concern atm.

Just our curiosity. Researching Cambodia as a place to live, knowing that Immigration want 2 blank pages in your passport. Why did you not apply in time for a new passport and waited till the last moment to ask in here if it should be okay to not have that requirement?

All the info pertaining to that decision is a bit long winded and has a lot of unrelated factors, but the tldr version is: I get different information with every resource I read. I don't KNOW that they do require 2 blank pages, I've only heard that it COULD be the case, thus the reason I've asked for other people's experiences with it. I've contacted the consulate directly, but it's been a long holiday weekend so I have to wait for their response. And it's not really that it's last minute either, we'd just prefer to wait the two weeks exploring Cambodia instead of sitting in BKK where we are already familiar, using our time more constructively.

I've just came back from Cambodia a few weeks ago, with half a page remaining and had no problems. I asked the officer to put the stamp on a page in the middle of my passport that some space left and he did it no problem.

Thanks for the input :)

Risk it at your peril

My apologies. And just to clarify. Validity encompasses right of passage. I.e. the prerequisite amount of pages.

Thanks for the input. Luckily the passport is still valid for two years, so that's not an issue. It has more to do with the blank pages left. I am aware of and understand the heightened restrictions on visas in Thailand, but I'm unfamiliar with subtle rules that may be employed in Cambodia and couldn't find an official answer on Cambodian government websites to my particular question, so I thought I'd ask for the experiences of others in this group.

International immigration law; have to have more than 6 months to enter a country outside your domiciled residence. In Thailand they are on a crackdown. Even with a valid passport, immigration rules are being enforced. Heavily. Any other points needed?

Do you have more specifics?

I had no problem entering Cambodia at Chong Sangam with 1 full page and a few half pages.

I have never checked on e-visas in details, but only Business visas are extendable for 6-12month. Agencies can also get you paperwork to cover the work permit issue.

Thanks for the input. We're planning on getting him a new passport before extending anything if we decide to stay more long term. As far as I know, one can only get a 6mo-1yr extension on E-type visas and only if one has a work permit. The passport page issue should be sorted out before we get to that step.

Possibly, but I was still stamped into Cambodia for 30 days. I dont know how long the OP plans on staying in Cambodia.

@Amor****
, i didn't think you could extend an e-visa in Cambodia :/
Amornrat **********
yes, but people want to stay in Cambodia that they become fussy, no problem if you go OUT/IN, but if you go into Cambodia and possible extend visa in Phnom Penh than they might get a bit fussy, because any extension is a sticker for itself.

Kevin ********
My experience is that they are mostly sticklers about making sure the amount payed is more that the official cost.

But the e visa does do away with this.

But I've also never tried to enter with a full passport.
Tod *********
Why not just fly in and out of Malaysia? Most people don't require a visa to get in and out of there, so you'd just get the entry/exit stamps

Be advised that the E-Visa for Cambodia does not let you enter at any land crossing. You can at Poi Pet - Aranyaprathet but not at Ban Laem or Ban Pakard
Kevin ********
Can also cross at Baan Had Lek (Koh Kong).

@Ambrosia ******
works there no problem
