TLDR : Answer Summary
Many expats report that they have successfully crossed the border into Thailand without completing the 90-day report requirement, experiencing no issues at passport control. Both personal accounts and comments suggest that border officers do not inquire about previous 90-day reports, making it relatively safe to exit and re-enter Thailand without this documentation.

I forgot my second 90day report one time and did a 5minute border run at laos land border, 2-3days after report was due, no problems at all. And when next time i did it again, no problems

There is no issue at all exiting thailand without having done a 90 day report because officers at passport control (at the airports and land borders) don't care if you ever filed a 90 day report or not. It's not their job, they'll never ask about it at all.

And when you come back in you won't have any issues either.

No one at passport control can see if you ever did a 90 day report or not on a previous entry when you go to stamp in
