Im reading that retirement visa money can dip below 800k months before and after renewal date. Does the same apply for marriage visa. If so what are the requirements? TIA
Answer summary
For a marriage visa in Thailand, it is required to show a minimum of 400,000 baht in your Thai bank account for at least 60 days prior to applying for the extension. After the application, it is suggested to leave the money in the account until final approval, which takes about a month, though some users report that immigration does not strictly check this rule. Generally, you need to maintain this balance for about three months per year, especially before the renewal application.

I start spending the 400k as soon as I have my entension stamp.
Marrige visa requires 400kto be in the bank for 60 days prior to application. Approval takes 1 month so technically the money should remain in account until Approval.
But immigration doesn't check. I always start spending the money day after application, and pattaya immigration says you can.
For the renewal you will be required to show the balance for 3 months BEFORE you apply for the renewal. So make sure the money is in place prior to that. I believe there is also a minimum requirement, but I’m not sure exactly what that is.
The rule for marriage extensions is being able to show 400,000 baht in your Thai bank account for 2 full months at the time you apply for the extension, then leave the money in until the final extension is issued. That means you need the money in the bank for about 3 months per year.
