Hi I am from the UK and got a 30 day tourist visa on arrival at BKK. I got a 30 day extension in Phuket due to expire on 28/1. Can I get another 30 days from a local visa office eg here in Pai. 

Also if I was to leave Thailand to visit Laos for a few days can I re enter on my tourist visa or would I need to reapply. I tried to find this information online but to no avail.

If I leave Thailand for a month and then return by plane or land can I get a visa on arrival or will I need to apply beforehand.

you need to dial in your terminology a bit, if you're just getting a 30 day free entry stamp when you show up here you aren't getting in on any tourist visa on arrival, OR visa on arrival OR even any visa at all 😮 It's a free entry stamp for 30 days. AND you can extend that ONE time for 30 more days at the immigration office where you stay.

You want more time bounce out and back BY LAND <- with a service that takes you to the border and back (they have it set up so you can get out and back in without issue)

You can get two 30 day visa exempt entries (the free stamps) per year by land.

You got a visa exempt entry and then a 30 day extension. Only 1 extension is allowed. You will now have to do a border bounce or visa run outside of thailand and re enter

You don't now have a tourist visa...you entered Thailand Visa EXEMPT ENTRY.

You cannot get another 30 Day extension of stay inside Thailand. You ALREADY have obtained the one allowed as you entered Thailand Visa EXEMPT ENTRY.

You can do a BORDER BOUNCE to get a NEW 30 day Visa Exempt Entry STAMP.

And that can be extended One time for 30 ADDED days at your local Thai Immigration office for 1900 Thai baht.
