Hello, My friend has a *work permit until July 2026*. Company of him (49%) with nominees (51%), so not legit. we know. should not been done . Has non-B-eVisa-90days from an embassy until *May 20th*. He will leaved Thailand on May 3rd.
Here are the question - can he return next day (or only after May 20th?) ? can he receive 60 days stamp? is there a need to cancel work permit prior to leaving the kingdom?
Thank you all,

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the implications of leaving Thailand with a work permit and a non-B visa. Key points from the discussion indicate that the friend should cancel his work permit before leaving, usually with a termination letter submitted to the labor department. If he leaves before May 20th, his visa will expire upon exit unless he has a re-entry permit. Returning the next day should be possible but may be contingent on visa terms, and a 60-day stamp could be received if eligible for visa exemption upon re-entry.
He should have a termination letter from the company stating when his last day is to cancel the work permit smoothly, then as long as he doesn't have a reentry permit, his visa will expire as soon as he leaves. Lots of people do this that are leaving Thailand, that worked here, then when their contract ends leave, and comeback on a visa exempt entry to clear up all their responsibilities in leaving. It is not uncommon.
Einat Yarhi no. You take it to the labour department, with your work permit, to cancel it. The visa is an original 90 day visa, so it won't cancel when the work permit does.
The visa was used the moment he entered Thailand, what's important are the stamps in his passport. If he has a re-entry permit his stamp will remain live, if he doesn't the stamp will end when he exits
thank you, and what about the work permit?? what happens if we dont contact the ministry of labor about it? do you know if it will create a problem when entering?
it shouldn't, it's more likely to cause a problem if he applies for another Non-immigrant visa inside Thailand or an extension of stay from one issued outside Thailand. Why not just cancel it?
