My friend is coming to Thailand about 45 days. Can he get an extension when he arrives and how much is is? His outbound flight is more than 30 days. I know this is basic but I've always had a long term visa. Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about extending a stay in Thailand for a friend arriving for 45 days who has a return flight over 30 days from arrival. It is suggested that the friend can extend their stay at an immigration office in their province or, alternatively, obtain a tourist visa prior to arrival for a longer initial stay of 60 days. Additionally, it's noted that an outbound flight within 30 days might be required for boarding, depending on the airline's policy.
They will go to the immigration office in the province they're staying at.
Or they can apply for a tourist visa before they come to Thailand and get 60 days when they arrive. It's cheaper than applying for an extension in Thailand and doesn't require a day at immigration.
