Hi! A friend is coming to visit me and as per our Nationality he gets 30 days on arrival. 

If, when he is here, he decides he wants to stay longer can I take him to immigration for a 30 day extension?

(I want to make double sure this is possible as I’ve never extended a ‘visa on arrival’ before).

get your terminology right 😮 , there is no such thing as a 30 day visa on arrival 😕 if your profile is to be believed and you're South African you're talking about a 30 day visa exempt entry stamp (it is not a visa on arrival) it is a stamp that people from 51 countries get for free for 30 days when they show up here without a visa. It can be extended once for 30 days at the immigration office 🙂

visa on arrival cannot be extended, but Visa exempt can, which is most likely what your friend will be using.

a Friend is comming with your Nationality, so I would guess he can apply for the 30 day Extension of Stay based on tourism.
