Hi My employee has work permit linked with his Non-B visa. He is now over 50.

Can he change the visa extension to be based on retirement? Will the labor department renew his WP to be base on the retirement visa? I'm not sure if it's a valid type.

TLDR : Answer Summary
An employee with a work permit linked to a Non-B visa cannot switch to a retirement visa and continue working, as it is not possible to work on a retirement visa. He should maintain his current visa extension or consider retiring and then inquire at the local Immigration Office for the retirement visa requirements.

NOT possible to work on a retirement visa.

He will need to stay with the visa extension now on...

Or quit work and ask the local Thai Immigration Office for the list of requirements to obtain the retirement visa and extension.

I assume that he is NOT Married to Thai or father of Thai child.
